This is a true story. The story of a life divided; of disruption, dislocation,, struggle and disappointment, but of hope and achievement, too. One painter’s life - Johannes Matthacus Koelz.
An incredible story. Koelz’s refusal to paint Hitler. How his creation of Thou Shalt Not Kill caused him to flee his homeland, ultimately to be transported to Australia on the fated ship Duncra.
The book analyses Koelz’s work and charts the artist’s career and the global search for his lost works in full for the first time.
Richard and the team at DolmanScott were professional and helpful, offering guidance and clarity throughout the process. The quality and finish of the final product is excellent. The design team went above and beyond, improving the layout and design to exceed expectations. Thank you!
